Well, I've finished seaming the halter, now all that's left to do is the border..And the weaving of ends. I'm not sure what I want as an edge, though. Like, do I want a neat little row of single crochets? Do I want 6 rows of ribbing? Do I want some garter? I wouldn't mind it how it is, but it's just a little unfinished loking and feeling. I'd feel better if I did something to it.
Wow, I've really got the hang of seaming now! I'd say my seaming was better than the knitting (the actual knitting of the top is still pretty unco, even after my attempt at blocking...I think I'm going to block it how I was told (iron wet towel over the top of it) once it's all done. I reckon so.
Here is the almost finished Halter!
Close-Up
I don't reckon it looks too bad. Very comfortable! I think you should all go out and buy some Heirloom Cotton! IT's so nice. It has weight, but it doesn't feel like it will stretch down or anything like it's not heavy or anything. Very nice and soft. And, I ordered one too many balls, so now, seeing as I've got 1 and a hlaf bllas left, I'm going to make myself some fingerless gloves.
I 'm torn though. Do I want some lovely neat, clean lined gloves that match the top...Or do I want to use some of the lovely Katia Diana that I bough ages ago. I just bought it coz I wanted it, with nothing in mind. I was on my last $10 note, and just though "I need to spend". It's really soft and lovely. I thought maybe that as the body of the glove, the palm of my hand, and the cotton for the fingers and cuff....It would look cool and origianl, but not...clean and simple, which is what cotton is. I'll work it out!
Ooh, and my socks! Well, my sock. It's coming along nicely. My gauge is off, by half a stitch an inch, but that makes it fit better coz I've got miniscule feet...A friedn once asked if they were bound like they do in China (I don't know if they still do it, but in china...Or is it Japan? I think it was China, they would tightly bind the womens feet with strips of fabric or whatever, so that they couldn't grow properly. The lack of size is supposed to be beautiful, but also indicate..I don't know what the word is. Inferiroity?))No, they weren't, they're just small.
I'll take a pic once it's a little bigger...Sad, today I've knitted ten rows of a sock. That's it. Oh, well, I seamed most of the Halter, too, but that didn't take that long. So, at 5:44 pm, I've..Knitted ten rows of a sock. Lovely. Very productive, aren't I?
I forgot to say, it's the school holidays! It has been for a week now, it's great!
Me and Talia are going to do a cheapo/spend-less city visit tomorrow. Going to check out the Art Gallery and the Museum. The Art Gallery doesn't interest me nearly as much as the museum does...I mean, I 've got nothing against it, it's just that Talia is going to want to hang in there all say. Not my thing. I need to be constantly doing something. Not looking at paintings. So Talia, if you're reading this (you'd better not be!)...Don't stay in the frigging Art Gallery all day.
Mm, and if I say "Oh, I'm bored, let's go look in the Museum"...She'll get all "You always want to do what you want to do.'I want this, I want to go here, I'm bored'..Why can't we do something I want to do?"...Uh how about ... WE ALWAYS DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO?!?!?
Sorry, I just had to let that out.
Grr, we were going to go Rock Climbing, that would have been heaps fun, but Mum wouldn't let me. Eeh, I'm not a two year old. I know Im no adult, but, you know?
Well, I'm off to try to get some more sockness done,
Byebye!
