Well, since I started High School, I rarely, if ever travel in the car. Only if I need a lift to somewhere. And, with four children who would all like to sit in the front seat, it's even more rare that I sit in the front.
Yesterday, I needed to get to the Station (catching a train to the city with Talia). Mum took me in her car, I sat in the passenger seat. Low and Behold, guess what was on the floor? Something I'd put in for so long ago that I forgot about it! A free Pattern Works Catalouge! The "Fall 2004" one. Geez, I wish I lived near that place! Prices seem OK, and what a range!
Mum had picked it up from the PO BOX weeks ago, and just left it in the car because it wasn't for her or Brett. That irritates me. It could have been really important. You know? And she just left it there. Under everyones feet, to be crapped up and ripped and all.
Ok, I have some feather yarn I would like to trade...Here's the pictures!
The black one is opened but unused.
Colour close-up...It's more reddy-purple than bluey-purple.
Ok?
Well, after the city, we caught the train back to Talia's place and got to work.
We'd been to Spotlight and Lincraft, but only spent our mulah at Spotlight, being cheaper.
It's Hallowe'en, today, but Mum wouldn't let me do it..Sad, sad, I know. But to the point, Talia wanted a skirt, she wanted to dress up as an evillish fairy. She's got a sewing machine, but she doens't know how to use it. That's where I came in.
She bought 3 meters of this maroony-purpley nylon netting, which really shouldn't be used for clothing, and we pulled some black materials out of the sales bin.
We proceded to spend at least an hour and a half pinning in some pleats. Then, I sewed the pleats in.
That would have to have been one of the hardest things I've ever done with a sewing machine. The machine is much faster than the ones at school, plus the mesh was soo slippery! But, you couldn'y really see the wanky stitches, so all is well.
I felt the need to share because she might be coming over a little later with my mate Shaun (who will be dressed as a Hobo..He doesn't need to try that hard!! :P) and if she's wearing that skirt (which I stayed up 'till 11 o'clock last night doing!) I'll take some pictures! It's seriously very cool! (I don't mean to brag, I'm just proud!)
